My reflection

I.a.l.t respond to a text using my prior knowledge and experience

Success Criteria. I feel this hard because i don't know so many different words.

My next step is to connect ideas from other texts I have read.

Narrative Writing-Fractured FairyTale

My Reflection
I have been learning to write a fractured fairytale using what I have learned about narrative structured  and featured.  My fractured fairytale was based on the boy.  The best part of this is when the wolf and the grandma was arguing.  I got a lot better at doing the detail of the story.  I am most proud of the pixel art. My next step is to use the past tense consistently.

3D shapes

My Reflection
WALT identify and describe 3D shapes using mathematics language.
I found this easy because i know what faces, edges and corners mean.
My next step is to do symmetry of these shapes. 

Solving multiplication problems with a 2 digit number using place value

My Reflection

WALT use place value to solve larger multiplication problems using place value.

I found this easy because I used double and halve to solve the problem. My next step is to do division.

Character Description

                      

My Reflection

W.A.L.T write a character description using adjectives.  I found this picture easy to describe because it have lot of thing on his head.  I used my 5 senses to write my 5 different sentences about my character.

My next step is to add more interesting adjectives. 

Comparing Fairy Tales

My Reflection

I Have been learning to identify common themes in fairy and fractured tales.

We read two narratives called Red Riding Hood and Into The Forest.  A common theme I made from these story was making a venn diagram for characters of the story
I found this easy because I know the charachers. My next step is to do different characters for the venn diagram.

Maori God Art

My Reflection

This is my Maori God Art.  We read a Maori myth called In The Beginning.  I drew Haumia and used some adjectives to describe him.  We used cool text to publish the words. I enjoy this activity. 

Skimming and Scanning for Information

My Reflection

We have been learning to find and summarise information by skimming and scanning. Skimming and scanning and fast reading techniques to help you find the main ideas or information quickly in a text. We read a story about White Tailed Spider. I used skimming and scanning to find information. I found this easy because this whole activity is about the White Tailed Spider. My next step is to find more information to find facts and ideas. 

Equal Additions Strategy

My Reflection

I have been learning to use equal addition to subtract 3 digit numbers.

I found this easy because I was taught a quick strategy for these equitation.

My next step is to do this in decimals.

Persuasive Speech Research Popplet

I have been learning to find information about my speech topic.
I used instagrok and other website to research my speech topic
which is Things About Earth. I found this interesting because I
learn a website called instagrok. My next step is to plan my speech.

I found this tricky because I need help and I got no idea to solve this.

We have been learning about about the structure and order of writing an explanation.We had to put the piece of writing  in the correct order. I found this work tricky because I have to think.

My next step is to write my own explanation.

Solving Multiplications Problems With 2 Digit Numbers

I have been learning to solve solve multiplication problem with 2 digit numbers.

I used place value to solve this problem.  I found this easy because if I use place value 

it will be easy.  My next step is to division problem with reminders.

Classifying Celebrations

We have been learning about celebrations.  There are different types of celebrations.

We had to talk about these celebrations and decide what type of celebration they were.  

I found this work tricky because some of the celebrations I don't know.

Comparing Celebrations

My reflection

We have been learning to compare and contrast different celebration.  My group researched information about Holi.  Something I found interesting is it last two days.Next we worked with another group and used a venn diagram to compare our celebrations.  Things that were the same were dancing, celebrates Myths and legends, celebrated with friends and family.  My next step is to put more detail and information in the venn diagram.

I have been learning to add detail to my writing.We had to imagine we were a soldier or a family
member and write about this picture.My next step is to add more adjectives to my writing to make it more interesting.

Welcome to my year 4 learning blog.  This year I am in room 12 and my teacher is Mrs Melville.

I enjoy writing and maths this year.  This year I am looking forward to do well learning.  I hope
